This privacy policy sets out how Sunshine Hair & Beauty Training Academy (SHBTA)  uses, protects and provides access to personal data that you provide when using the sunshinetraining.co.uk website and our courses.

SHBTA is committed to protecting your privacy. If we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using the website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy. We treat all your personal information as confidential and do not pass your information on to third parties without consent unless legally required to do so.

By providing us with your personal information, you agree and consent to its transfer, processing, use and disclosure as outlined in this privacy policy. This policy does not apply to data you place on any publicly accessible page. For example, when you contribute to our blog or forums.

SHBTA may change this policy by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure you are happy with the changes. This policy is effective from 25th May 2018.

1. What personal data is collected?
When you book a training course through SHBTA, personal information such as your name, email address, phone and mobile numbers, together with your address are collected by us. This data enables us to provide a localised service, and to link you to your course certificates, which is part of our certification audit trail. This ensures you can prove your certificates are valid and are issued in accordance with our accreditation standards. As part of your course, we record data regarding your response to tests and or assignments. We also prepare reports and evaluations on your progress, which we store. You have full access to such reports and evaluations. All this data is securely stored off-line once you have completed your course, but remain on file so they may be verified, if we are called upon to do so. Should you request this information not to be kept, it will automatically invalidate any certificate issued to you pertaining to these records.
2. Data required on models or persons used in your course.
To ensure we comply with the law and insurance regulations, you have to provide details of all models, or persons you use to assist you in demonstrating your understanding of your subject. This information which comprises their name, address, telephone or mobile number, email address, their age and a signed statement of consent to take part in your training will only be retained by us for a limited period. We do nothing with this data except store it and produce it if an issue arises and you have to prove to authorities that you have complied with legal and insurance requirements.
3. Other data collected.
We make use of payment service providers (who will be either Swipe or PayPal) to process payments. They host their services on secure servers and we have no access to your debit/credit card details. If you use our sister business Sunshine Finance to finance any course, please refer to their Privacy Policy. We do not keep any  information regarding your financial arrangements.

Our website also offers additional services to store copies of certificates earned from other training organisations, maintain a CPD (Continuous Learning Development) log and profile of your professional development. These services are voluntary. The data you provide is fully accessible, editable and removable by yourself.

We may collect information about which pages of the site are visited and for how long. This is statistical data about our users' browsing behaviour and does not identify you personally.
4. How do we use your data?
Data collected is used to help us deliver course content to you and to assess your understanding of the subject in accordance with accreditation standards.

The information you provide voluntarily, is not used by us. All we are doing is providing a valuable central repository for data to assist your professional development within the hair and beauty sector.

We may use your personal information to send you marketing communications (if you have opted in to receive them). You can opt out of these at any time by visiting
my preferences in your online account.
5. Right to access your data.
You have full access to the information pertaining to your courses, this includes, invoices, reports, certificates and manuals. You have full access to data provide voluntarily, which includes forums and blogs. We hold no other information on you.
6. Right to remove your data.
You have a right to request we remove your personal data. However, if your data is linked to any course, the removal of your data will invalidate any certificate we have issued you as your personal data is linked to your courses. If you request the removal of course data, this too will invalidate your certificate.

You may remove all data provided voluntarily, as you have full access to add, edit and delete such information. You may request the removal of all blog posts and comments as well as forum posts.
7. Right to port your data.
You may request we port part or all your data provided to us voluntarily, in a standard format of our choosing, for which we will charge a nominal fee.

We are unable to port course data because as the issuing authority we have to retain control over such data which may be altered and therefore no longer conform to our accreditation requirements. If you insist, this will invalidate your certification.
